Shortly after the President-elect’s victory, Gavin joined the Presidential Inaugural Committee as a Press Lead and Event Coordinator for the Lincoln Memorial Inaugural Concert. Here, Gavin collaborated with a team of highly skilled professionals to coordinate the logistics of the national press core during the Presidential Inaugural festivities. During such festivities, Gavin was awarded a Presidential Appointment to the U.S. Department of Labor, where he went on to serve as Press Secretary and Communications Advisor to the Secretary.

After nearly one year of service with the Department of Labor, Gavin was appointed Deputy Communications Director at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Here, Gavin’s portfolio included managing communications for the Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Surgeon General, CDC Director, FDA Commissioner, NIH Director, and more. It was here that Gavin was a member of the President’s Opioid Task Force and helped launch a national advertising campaign to combat the United State’s opioid epidemic.
