Lexington Chamber Awards $5,000 Doris Burkett Scholarship To Gilbert High School Graduate
LEXINGTON, S.C. – The Lexington Chamber and Visitors Center awarded Gilbert High School graduate Logan Gunter with its $5,000 Doris Burkett Scholarship.
“It is an honor to continue this scholarship in the memory of Doris Burkett, who led the Chamber for over a decade,” said Angelle LaBorde, Chamber President & CEO. “We hope that helping students in their pursuit of higher education will inspire them to give back to and make an impact on their communities.”
The Doris Burkett Scholarship is given to a Lexington School District One student who will be attending either a four-year college or university or technical college. This scholarship places emphasis on moral integrity and the potential of the individual to become a productive citizen. For more than 25 years, the Chamber has provided over $130,000 in scholarship funds to deserving students.
