Pelion HS Graduate Receives $5,000 Scholarship From Lexington Chamber
LEXINGTON, S.C. – The Lexington Chamber and Visitors Center awarded Pelion High School graduate Maria del Carmen Charre with its $5,000
Doris Burkett Scholarship.
The Doris Burkett Scholarship is given to Lexington School District One students who will be attending either a four-year college, university or technical
college. This needs-based scholarship places emphasis on moral integrity and the potential of the individual to become a productive citizen.
Charre will be attending Winthrop University where she will majoring in chemistry. She plans to pursue a career as a physician to provide medical assistance
to those who may not have easy access to health care.
