April 17, 2024 | Posted By: Nina Glisson

After an extensive national search, the MTC Commission is pleased to announce that Dr. Gregory Little has been selected to serve as the seventh President of Midlands Technical College. Dr. Little is expected to begin his new role on July 1, 2024.

Dr. Little is a veteran educator with 27 years of experience. He earned his undergraduate degree in English from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, followed by a Master’s Degree and Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He served as superintendent for Mount Airy City Schools in North Carolina and Lexington County School District One in Lexington, South Carolina. In 2022, he accepted the role of Vice President for Strategic Partnerships and Innovation for the South Carolina Technical College System, and was most recently named the Acting Executive Director/President for the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education.

Dr. Little and his wife Julie have been married for 23 years this month and have two daughters. Coming from a family of educators, he believes that education creates pathways to prosperity, and that South Carolina’s Technical Colleges are a clear example of that philosophy. Dr. Little is committed to ensuring access to higher education and training for those who need it most, and to serving the expanding workforce needs of the region.

On behalf of the entire MTC Commission, we extend our appreciation to the college community for your participation in the presidential Open Forums. Your feedback was greatly valued and reviewed by every member of the Commission.

The Commission is confident that Dr. Little will successfully lead the college into the future and congratulates him on his appointment. Please join us in welcoming him to the MTC family!
